Implants for breast augmentation are done for various reasons: asymmetric breasts, hypoplastic breasts or for just cosmetic reasons to enhance breast size.  Subglandular implants are positioned behind glandular tissue and above the pectoral muscle.  Subpectoral implants are positioned behind the pectoral muscle AND mammary glands, on the chest wall.  Intramammary is within the mammary gland.  Intravascular is situated within a blood vessel.
